Cricket – Sound of breaking wood

Cricket- a game played on a large grass field with ball, bats, and two wickets, between teams of eleven players.
The name for the game, comes from a French word ‘criquet’ which meant ‘stick’ and before that can be traced to the Middle Flemish word ‘cricke’ which was onomatopoeic for the sound of a breaking stick.
