G-String – Native american atire

G-String: A garment consisting of a narrow strip of cloth attached to a waistband that covers only the genital area, worn as underwear or by striptease performers.

You might not expect it but the word ‘G-string’ dates back to the 1800s and is a shortening of ‘geestring’, the name for the loincloth worn by native Americans. It was shortened to ‘G-string’ in 1882.
