Shop – Cowshed

Shop – A place for buying goods or services.

The word ‘Shop’ dates back to the early 1300s, before that the word used in its place was ‘scoppa’ which was a derivative of ‘scypen’ and meant ‘out-building’, it was used for both out buildings used for trading and, oddly, cowsheds.
